PianoForte Musicians Fall Policy
Registration for Fall 2026
Tuition is calculated by semester. The registration fee can be paid at any time to hold the student’s lesson spot. Both the 1st payment and the non-refundable registration fee are due by 10 August. New students are required to pay the first payment and registration fee at the time of sign-up.
Tuition is non-refundable and due regardless of attendance. Tuition payment guarantees a weekly lesson time for the semester. Tuition covers hours of prep outside lesson time, as well as the apps needed. No refunds, no exceptions!!! One extra flex lesson is built in with no charge for unexpected teacher needs.
Need to miss a lesson? This studio is RockOutLoud.live for our online lessons if either the student or the teacher is not feeling well or is traveling. If a student is unable to get online for a lesson, you may send me a video 24 hours before the lesson, and I will review and respond with needed feedback on PracticeSpace during the student’s lesson time.
The PracticeSpace app is required for all students and will be used for lesson assignments, both for In-person and online. Online may be used as a preference all the time, when you are ill, or when either a student or a teacher is out of town.
Lessons
The studio offers lessons on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. If all times are full, there will be a waiting list. Lesson times are filled when the deposit is paid, and the registration form is returned to the studio. We will not hold lesson times without a deposit. Lesson times are considered open until the deposit fee is paid.
Master Class
Master classes are held the last week of each month. Master class takes the place of that week’s private lesson. The teacher assigns groups according to age and experience. The master class lasts 30-60 minutes, depending on the students' ages and the number of students. Classes are held on Monday. Master Class builds confidence and performing skills, and fosters peer friendship and unity. Master Class is held regardless of whether a student is present. There are absolutely NO make-ups, refunds, or credits for the master performance class. The master classes are geared to age groups and are not interchangeable unless the teacher states otherwise. Students may attend online with their group.
Supplies
The studio provides apps for online teaching, treats, and rewards. The teacher will use Venmo to request money for music books. All students will need music books and/or studio-licensed music.
Voice students: Voice recorder (provided by the student); a phone or iPad works well.
Piano students require a piano or keyboard to practice at home. After one year of study, a piano is a must for developing pedal technique and musicality.
Holidays/Schedule
PianoForte Musicians uses South Jordan's traditional calendar for holidays, including fall and spring break. If the instructor needs to miss due to illness or travel, there is a built-in flex week for teacher needs at no charge.
Studio Étiquette
Online - You will be sent an ID to enter the RockOutLoud live waiting room, where we hold our lessons. If I am still with another student, you will be notified to wait in the room until I allow you into the studio. The wait room is for security.
In-person lessons - the door will be unlocked 5 min before the first lesson…no sooner! For safety reasons, please do not drop off a student without checking that I am home. Students should then wash and get ready for their lesson.
Expectations
Students are expected to practice and attend both lessons and the Master class. Student assignments are on the PracticeSpace app. Practicing with the PracticeSpace app is necessary and expected. Attendance at rehearsal is required for performance at the recital. The studio strives to teach all musical skills in a fun, positive, and motivational way. Students are expected to show up ready to work and enjoy music. Parents, please adhere to the policy. The instructor reserves the right to discontinue the teaching arrangement if the criteria are not met. Our studio has exceptional students!!! The first semester is probationary, and progress will be evaluated at the end of the semester.
The instructor’s training background is classical, both in voice and piano, and is taught at this studio. Students are encouraged to play and sing additional music they enjoy.
Vocal students- Instructor approval is required for musical selections. Vocalist selections need to be age-appropriate, and students must have the range and ability to sing any selected vocal arrangements.
